WOW!!! You are so right!! My coaches ALWAYS played the best defender with the best arm, best quickness at shortstop. And your fastest guy in center. You most cerebral grunt with a 90-mph arm at catcher. NEVER was the focus on pitchers like the Braves do. Find someone who can "throw" accurately and TEACH them to be pitchers. They are selectively killing the franchise. Lindsay, you da man!
Phenomenal! I have been pounding the table for Josh Owens this year. SS/OF. Can probably underslot him. Then overslot another at 60. Maybe later in the draft add a guy like SS/OF Maila Niu who is tearing up Cape Cod.
Padres, Brewers and Yankees have interest in Owens
Phillies have interest in Southisene, another fave
Tigers linked to Cunningham at 25
All picking after us. If we pass on Cunningham not sure what to say. Position of need, best hit tools in the prep class. If he is there you grab him and pay him.
The waste of almost all of the international FA money on one prospect seems to contradict the constant message of AA regarding the importance he gives to depth.
Another great article! One great example for the shortstop explanation is San Diego. Last year they had a lineup where 6 of the 9 players' natural position was SS.
Well done!
High praise from the data guy considering I didn't use that much data! lol
Shoot, all the background research it took is a lot more painstaking than pulling some numbers!

Welcome in to the premium subscriber party, Michael!
I agree with you on the SS double dip idea - I'd like to see Pierce and Owens, but I could take Niu as well

1. Owens or Kilby. Maybe Flemming
2. Brumbaugh. Very underrated.
Or Taitn Gray
3. College arm. Lombardi?
4. Niu. Could start at SS. Move to OF later ala Merrill
Add a bunch of metric darling arms. Developmental catcher Maybe a CF type like Vidourek or Kling or Trevor Cohen
It’s a year to double dip at prep SS.
Sorry. It’s Maika
Forgot to add Oliveto at 60.
Underslot Owens Then overlsot Oliveto

And they are looking at Owens for pick 25
